Update - January 13th

This quote holds true. This has been a storm. It blew in like a tornado and knocked us off our feet. It flew by leaving destruction in its path. Here we are on the other side wondering what really just happened. We are all changed in so many ways. Especially Morgan. This journey is far from over, but we have made it through this storm and we are stronger because of it. Ready to face whatever the future may hold. Morgan's post treatment scans, according to her oncologist, look excellent!! She is officially NED (no evidence of disease). The best news. Ever! Thank you for all of your continued love and support.

Update December 29 - January 10

Morgan is now back in school full time. She was a little nervous at first but has become quite confident and is back on track with both her schoolwork and her social life. The students were all quite welcoming and she is really enjoying it.

Last week Morgan had her PET scan done on Wednesday. We have not heard any results from the scan although we do have our big oncology appointment this Friday. I'm sure they will be going over the results of the PET scan as well as all of her upcoming scans at that point.

Yesterday she had a follow up appointment with her plastic surgeon. He informed us that her mobility looks great in her shoulder ( as you may remember, she had her left collarbone, part of her sternum, part of her top rib and the surrounding muscle removed in August). We are unbelievably relived that her shoulder has turned out as well as it has both cemetrically and in regards to her physical movement. She also has quite a large scar on her back that extends from her armpit all the way down to her lower back (where a large muscle was moved from her back and fed around to the front to connect to her shoulder). The plastic surgeon informed us that the scar had expanded since he had seen her last. He was not concerned and said it was most likely do to her growing and the skin being stretched. All in all it was a positive appointment.

This Wednesday, Morgan will be at Children's Hospital for most of the day. She will be having her CT scan, MRI and EKG.

Then on Friday we have her long appointment with the oncologist to go over the results of all of the scans and to inform us how the future will look for Morgan.

It is a busy week for us and we are all just waiting to get through. We are hoping for the news of clear scans on Friday and a bright future for Morgan.
